Code of Conduct

RealAly is a marketplace where real estate agents advise other real estate agents. Everybody here is a working professional, most people here are somebody else's competitor, and much of what gets discussed is a live transaction with real money in it.

This is the code that makes that workable. It applies to every session, every message and every profile, and accepting it is a condition of using RealAly. The RealAly Platform Terms of Service and the role agreement for your side of the marketplace say the same things at length; this is the short version, and it is the one that matters day to day.

If you are an agent

You are here to get an answer from somebody who has already solved what you are looking at.

• Treat advisors with respect, professionalism, and gratitude for their time.
• Come prepared. Bring the situation, the numbers and the question you actually need answered.
• Be punctual, and cancel more than 24 hours ahead if something changes.
• Describe the situation, not the client. Redact anything an advisor does not need to see.
• Never share passwords, wire instructions, lockbox codes or anything you would not read aloud.
• Remember your advisor is not your broker. Brokerage approval and legal questions go to the people who owe you those answers.
• Verify anything material before you act on it.
• Do not ask an advisor to do the work for you, or to act outside their license.
• Do not use a session to recruit an advisor, or to go after their clients.
• Never treat commissions, pricing, territories or customers as something to agree on with a competitor.

If you are an advisor

You are here to give an hour of experience, and to be paid for it.

• Treat every agent with respect, patience, and professionalism.
• Honour the sessions you accept, and be punctual.
• Stay inside your license and your experience, and say so plainly when a question falls outside it.
• Do not give legal, tax or compliance advice. Send those questions to the professional who owes the answer.
• Do not use a session to recruit an agent to your brokerage or your team.
• Do not use a session to sell your coaching, your course, your tools or your services.
• Disclose any financial interest in anything you recommend.
• Protect what you are told. What an agent shares is theirs, not material for your marketing.
• Do not pursue an agent’s clients, leads or listings using anything you learned here.
• Guide and advise. Do not take over somebody else’s transaction.
• Promise nothing. No guaranteed closings, earnings, or results.

What happens when somebody breaks it

Tell us. Every report about a person is read before anything else in the queue, and reporting somebody is not a formality: a removed advisor loses their profile and their calendar at the same moment, and stops being bookable at all.

We may warn, restrict, suspend or permanently remove anybody who breaks this code, and we may act immediately where there is a safety, fraud, confidentiality or legal risk. None of that is a legal finding about the person, and none of it decides anything between two people outside RealAly.

Where the rest of it is

The full obligations, including payments, cancellations, confidentiality, competition, intellectual property, liability and dispute resolution, are in the RealAly Platform Terms of Service and in the Agent Agreement and Advisor Agreement. Accepting this code accepts those too, and all of them stay readable from the footer of every page.
